Artist and designer Katherine O'Shea creates unique illustrated lampshades, hand-made to order from her studio in Somerset.

"Each of my lampshades is designed with you in mind, whether you already have a vision for your lighting or are looking to me for some artistic inspiration.

I start each peice by listening to your needs and your ideas, and create illustrations which are special to you - a favourite place, a treasured memory, or perhaps that particular animal or flower design you love. The artwork is then printed onto fabric and hand-rolled by myself in my home studio onto whichever sized lampshade will best suit your space.

I love to experiment and am forever seeking interesting new projects, both large and small.

A highly meaningful gift for a horse lover - with this commssion there were plenty of personalised details to include,
but I was given a free artisic rein to create an interpretation. The lampshade was designed to accompany a beautiful Stephen Pearce ceramic lamp. A joy to work on...

This commission was for a Bristol local who wanted a lampshade to show their favourite view of the city.
I created two colourway options to choose from - day and night scenes.
They were so pleased with the final designs they decided to go for both.
